A-Z Challenge: D

D is for dogs. When I was 4 years old, I developed a fear of dogs. I was at my dad's friend's house, and they had two hunting dogs. They were black labs, and I took a step, which was when I got pounced on by the dogs. Ever since then, I have been scared of dogs.

  1. That is a shame I love my dogs. Too bad you had that experience though. Maybe start with small dogs in your recovery, lol.

  2. I'm sorry you had that experience. I'd think the key to recovery (if you're interested in that) is to find well-trained dogs, like service dogs, to be around. Size doesn't matter—manners do. =)

  3. I used to have nightmares about dogs, but I've always liked them (in daylight, lol). My family never owned any, but I have friends, grandparents, aunts and uncles who all have dogs, and I LOVE playing with them! :)

  4. That is so sad and scary...maybe they were just trying to lick you? I used to be scared of big dogs when I was very small but I grew out of it and somehow became an animal whisperer and all animals seem to love me now...I have no idea why. 5. I was also going to suggest that maybe you could reintroduce yourself to dogs with a service dog. I'm so sorry you had that experience. I don't know what I would do without my little wiener dog! I understand the fear though. I have similar feelings about cows. I was chased by a big bad mama cow when I was about 7 and to this day, they make me nervous.

Stopping by from A to Z. Good luck with your Challenge and with your book.

  6. I'm not a huge fan of dogs either. I'm not scared of them, but I don't particularly like them. I'd rather have a cat.
